I really liked my LG Keybo 1, nearly peak flip phone. When it broke I went to the store to grab a Keybo 2, it felt and looked so cheap in comparison I immediately returned it and bought my first Android phone.

Reading is fundamental. Subtitles might not be perfect, but that where hearing the original language is important. Not understanding a language is no reason to not hear it. I just wish subtitles were more exact, and less "for a western audience".

I have two close friends that reallyyyy like animal crossing but when they gave stardew valley a try (one I bought a digital copy as a gift and the other purchased the game themselves) they both really couldn’t get into it and never got past spring. This video is super interesting, I love both games and have other friends that like both or even prefer stardew much more, so weird how our brains work and how that plays into our taste in media 🤔

A lot of conspiracy theories boil down to two things: lack of understanding and lack of trust in institutional sources. Real damage done to people during real conspiracies (i.e. MK-Ultra) degrades the trust people have in authority figures and government groups. Combine that with a severe lack of understanding how a subject factually works, and you have a recipe for disaster.

I never really thought about the history of fitness tracking devices before! This is really interesting. I had no idea there were ways to track the composition of things like sweat and urine. We've certainly come a long way from only counting steps. Personally, one of things that has helped motivate me is playing Pikmin Bloom. Combining in-game goals and rewards with step counting is very effective. Plus, it's easier to just turn it on and put it in your pocket, so you can be present in the moment. Games like Pokémon Go are too attention-seeking, in my opinion. It's harder to just go on a walk and be in nature when you're supposed to engage with the game every 5 seconds in PoGo. Pikmin Bloom is much less demanding and calm.

VR for experiential learning is very compelling. It's the only medium with which students can learn in the cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains. No other educational technology can do this....but it's early days and a great time for educators to explore and study this technology to get a better understanding of its pedagogical strengths and shortcomings.

The tech company has MORE than enough data to know that a new update will slow older models down. The updates are still pushed out. There is way, way too much technology in schools. Ideally, even the calculator should be removed from math and science classes. Paper and pencil is still best. Instead of capturing the attention of students with glitz and glamour, we should do it by showing why the material they are learning is worth the effort. Children want to learn. Babies playing is their learning mechanism. Children are curious. We need to emphasize their progress in understanding aspects of the world, rather than making an amusement park in the classroom.

I love my libra h20 (1) so much. I want to upgrade to a slightly larger screen. 8 / 9" seem perfect. But the price difference for that single inch is insane. Not to mention all these devices come with a host of problems. And it's really frustrating that these very expensive devices are nothing more than decade old mobile chips that were outdated then, plastered on some plastic with a e-ink screen, sd card and a lamp. It cannot be that hard to fill the actual cover with a battery, have a modern mobile CPU that is much more power efficient and snappy. Have at least 50gb storage. We're in 2024 and it really feels like ereaders are stuck in 2005. I get that the main thing with ereaders is the screen right, but why does everything around it have to be so slow and outdated.

This video is categorically wrong. I am a professional photographer and videographer with 25 years experience and this is the ONLY camera I use for weddings, birthdays, fish, and clients. Whenever the clients need larger photos or clearer images I just pretend I didn’t hear them or pick up my phone to answer a call from grandma. This camera is a uniquely capable industry standard.

Would never read a screen over a book for a multitude of reasons but I would probably stop reading altogether newspapers the same thing. My wife has $5000 of erasers every brand and type that’s available for the most part and they collect dust in her drawer while she reads the paperback for almost every book she pays for on the silly devices. Plus I don’t get the same emotional reaction from the readers as I do books. Books you can tell how far you’ve gotten you can “feel” when your getting close to the end which stirs up feelings and emotions specially when a book is really good and you can’t wait to finish it but you don’t want it to end. That being said I also refuse to go paperless with bills newspapers books my own work so I’m definitely a paper guy but it’s for a reason not for being old school or technically inept. My 22 bookshelves overflowing with books could maybe be downsized by an ereader a bit which my wife may actually like but nope I’ll stick to paper and print. 1 solar flair and your million book ereader is garbage but my book they will stand the test of time.
